Abstract

Death is the reality of life that man has to face and with which he is constantly confronted. Man has always asked himself: What is death? Based on the work Le passeur de Gethsémani, by the philosopher Emmanuel Falque, this dissertation is based on the experience of death in Jesus Christ, seeking to respond to the thought of Martin Heidegger that «the Christian does not truly experience the anguish of death because he “has always seen death in the interpretation of life”». Basically, there are two questions behind this dissertation: First, how can a Christian have a peaceful experience on the threshold of life? Secondly, can a Christian, through his faith, experience the anguish of death differently than other men?
