The dissertation presented in this research work seeks to accentuate the issue of Faith in the contemporary world. It intends to demonstrate the importance of faith for theology and how theology must dialogue with the contemporary world. For this purpose, we used the reflections presented by the theologian Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI, now Pope Emeritus. The work is divided into three chapters: the first addresses issues related to the concept of faith throughout salvation history. The second deals with Joseph Ratzinger's point of view, the issues related to Christianity, God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Church, directly focusing our analysis on his work «Introduction to Christianity». Finally, the third tries to verify, in the contemporary culture, what are the challenges faced by faith, what is its importance to search for the meaning of life, as well as to what extent education is important to prescribe faith on the one hand, and on the other hand to open the way for dialogue. We are aware that this dissertation is not a final answer to the subject in question, but points out ways that can be observed by theology and by the Christian faith in general.
