The flu virus is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, affecting millions of people every year (National Flu Surveillance Program, 2018/2019), but which can be prevented through vaccination. That is why it is important to know and understand why there is low adherence to the flu vaccine, especially among groups considered at risk. The Community Intervention Project “Influenza Vaccination in Home Context” was developed in a Community Care Unit (UCC) in a municipality in the district of Lisbon. The purpose was to promote adherence to the flu vaccine by home care users supported by the Integrated Care Team in the community, through knowledge-promoting strategies concerning influenza and its vaccine.Through the Health Planning methodology, the needs of the target population, the establishment of health priorities, the formulation of objectives and strategies were assessed. The articulation with the Health Promotion Model of Nola Pender made it possible to substantiate the strategies and activities developed, within the scope of primary prevention. Being a guide, it allowed the mobilization of community resources, thus contributing to the process of training the target population of the project, regarding the prevention of influenza. The evaluation and analysis of the results obtained were made through process indicators, with observable and measurable data, whose overall evaluation was quite positive, resulting in the flu vaccination of all users who constituted the study population. It was possible to contribute to the improvement of the population's health, by the answer given to the identified needs, through the increase of health literacy regarding the flu and the respective vaccine. Given the time limitation of this project, proposals were left for the team to evaluate the impact indicators. This project allowed the master's student to develop specific skills for specialized intervention in the community and in public health through the use of strategies appropriate to the diversity of contexts aiming at the acquisition of better levels of health for families, groups and the community.
