Introduction: The oral rehabilitation with tooth-supported fixed partial dentures (FPDs) must follow a design that ensure integrity for the abutment teeth and the prosthetic structure. Based on biomechanical concepts, the Ante's law helps to the design conception, however there is a lack of scientific evidence. In order to clarify this concept, it is proposed the study of the clinical behavior of tooth supported FPDs of patients that attended the clinic of the Portuguese Catholic University
