The present essay focuses on the Lucan pericope 19, 1-10, in which the history and literary context are explored, as well as the research component, consolidated mainly in the person of Zacchaeus, and his interlocutors, such as Jesus and the crowd. The text is explored in its Greek origin and interpreted with the help of some exegetical sources, culminating in a triple theological analysis explained in a line of observation applied to Hospitality, Mercy and Salvation, in an approach that intertwines between conversion and justification and between being a tax collector and being “a son of Abraham”.
