We will develop a new line of investigation in research funding acquisition, specifically, on how increasing heterogeneity and complexity in this area affect contemporary research funding in life sciences. We will employ a detailed knowledge of the national and international research landscape to develop institutional-level studies on research strategy.
The overarching objective is to develop a novel model for research management and research funding acquisition in life sciences. The specific objectives are:

i) identify emerging needs and opportunities using an analytical approach to science policy;
ii) conflicting top-down and bottom-up approaches to research funding and their impact of research outputs and careers
iii) access various collaborative models with diverse stakeholders groups at the national and international level;
iv) develop a state-of-the-art framework for strategy development;
v) develop and monitor the competitiveness and performance indicators.
