Connection and well-being: the importance of social contexts for members of transnational families

When we consider transnational families holistically — both the ones who leave and the ones who stay —, every element can change their socio-cultural context in profound ways during migration. Not only the new context provides new opportunities and constraints, but it also brings new sets of values, beliefs and references. It becomes even more relevant as the space for dynamics is between digital and face-to-face, with more dynamics that can be transferred to extra-family contexts/ surrounding communities.
This project converges in the transdisciplinary approach of Psychological, Cognitive and Social Sciences, to understand the self, reducing prejudices about 'the other'.
