Programa colaborativo Enciclopédia de História Religiosa em Portugal (online)

Detalhes do projeto

Scientific research activity in the field of religious history integrating the research team of the UCP-CEHR and participating in the development and implementation of its strategic plan. Particularly in the implementation of its collaborative programme Encyclopedia of Religious History in Portugal aiming to create a dynamic online structure capable of offering the general public and the scientific community recent research on the religious phenomenon, which can persist over time.
In the specific field of research, the Encyclopedia aspires to become the main structure of agglutination of the History of Religious Phenomena in Portugal and in the Lusophone world, and also a privileged space for the diffusion of the most recent research, promoting the production of contents centered on historiographical problems, biographies, institutions and contexts, covering the religious in its multiple forms and organizational and identity processes (Judaism, Christianity, Islam and other religions).

Key findings

Entirely open to the study of the History of Religion in its entirety, the Encyclopedia is being constructed as a platform for dialogue, not only among different manifestations of religious sensibility, but also among the distinct scientific communities that integrate the universe of Lusophony, and among all the researchers and institutions that, outside this universe, dedicate themselves to identical researches. Centred in the area of History, the Encyclopedia of Religious History in Portugal does not dispense the collaboration of various other disciplines, such as the History of Art, Archaeology, Anthropology, Sociology, Geography, Theology, Philosophy and Literary Studies, whose contribution is decisive in the study of the religious universe. This a collaborative programme aiming at mobilising a broad community of national and foreign researchers.
