Detalhes do projeto
Description
Greenhouse technical production is one of the most frequent solutions used by farmers to increase the production per-unit and to limit the external negative effects on plant comfort. One of the emerging themes in agriculture is the sustainability of the production process to reduce the environmental impact while maintaining productivity, promoting economic viability, and saving resources and energy. The sustainability of the greenhouse vegetable production sector is of vital importance to its economy. The main goal of the project Sustainable greenhouse farming systems: from sun to fork - Sun2Fork is to develop an integrated greenhouse farming system through the adoption of technological and innovative approaches and sustainable resources to reduce production costs and improve the sustainability of traditional Mediterranean greenhouse systems. The efficacy of the new integrated system (solar panels, irrigation system and substrates) will be evaluated by the observed yield increase and the reduction of costs for greenhouse production in different geographical areas of the Mediterranean.
