According to the Bayesian Brain Hypothesis (BBH), pain perception (posteriors)
is a result of expectancies and previous experiences (priors), and the incoming sensory signals (likelihood). It is generally accepted that chronic pain results from biased processing towards the priors, but it is yet to determine the influence of each component in the unset and treatment of pain conditions.
To investigate this, 30 episodic migraine patients will be studied in two moments. Data of each component of the BBH, and of clinical and experimental pain
will be collected. Based on these findings we aim to contribute to a better understanding of the pain perception processes and prognosis.
