Resumo
Is it possible to transfer ‘post-conflict peace-building’ experiences that have occurred in societies that have been torn by violent interstate or intrastate conflicts to communities that have suffered a terrorist attack? Could Western communities, which deal with the aftermaths of a terrorist attack, learn from other communities in the complex process towards reconstruction, healing, and reconciliation? Interweaving insights from conflict and peace studies with film analysis, this essay claims that it is, in fact, possible to establish these links, and that films play an important role in peace-building processes.?Sharon Maguire’s Incendiary?(2008) is taken as a revealing case study as it depicts the transformation of a victim of terrorist attacks in London from trauma and grief into reconciliation with life.
