Resumo
Due to its temporal location, and to the thematic link to other poetic landmarks, not only by the author and the other tragedy writers, but by multiple authors of Greek Literature, the Sophocles' Antigone assumes a position of undeniable centrality in ancient literature. It is our purpose to trace the mythic-symbolic implications of the older versions of drama writings, within the thematic framework of hereditary punishment, and in particular of blindness, in order to try and clarify a timeless message amidst the embodied enigma of her voice.
