Avatares do eu: a (im)possibilidade do autorretrato na poesia de Almada Negreiros

Resultado de pesquisarevisão de pares

The references to the self are common in Almada Negreiros’ poetry. Notwithstanding this is not enough to say that his writing is self-representative or that the self-portrait is a central concern of his literary production. In his artworks, in which there are several explicit and figurative self-portraits, this preoccupation is clearer. The multifaceted work of Almada Negreiros, that begun with the Vanguards of the first decades of the XXth century, when the unity of the self was being jeopardized through a fragmentation largely studied in authors like Fernando Pessoa or Mário de Sá-Carneiro, is not always considered in the same way as the works of his generational companions. The aim of the current study is to question the place of the self in Almada Negreiros’ poetry, trying to establish relations between his poetry and his visual self-portraits.
