Resumo
The Criminal Section of the Portuguese Supreme Court has established that the use of loudspeakers to amplify a television broadcast is covered by the freedom to receive and does not amount to communication to the public. While commercial establishments surely like the sound of this, the main Portuguese collecting society has already promised to respond in all possible ways against the decision, which blatantly contradicts EU law.
