Resumo

Power relationships in the network society: emergence, nomadism and digital collectives. The study deals with the emergence of reputation criteria on a collaborative mediated work - a collective text - written by graduate students of the Graduated Program of Communication Sciences in the School of Arts and Communication from the University of Sao Paulo/ Brazil. The students were taking part in the discipline Building Virtual Learning Communities and Practice which is offered in the graduate program since 2001. Exploratory and longitudinal, this study adopted an ethnographic perspective through quantitative methods (surveys) and qualitative methods testimonies and participant observation. The results showed the emergence of the following reputation criteria: a) student's motivation and involvement in the collaborative work b) the influence of digital literacy c) the influence of contingency factors like profile, charisma, and trust by the other students during the collaborative work.
