Resumo

Bone augmentation in the oral region is a complex procedure for the clinician that may not produce the expected clinical results for the patient rehabilitation. In this work we evaluate the bone augmentation that was performed by an Implantologist in the left side of a maxilla by means of a 3D volumetric reconstrution that was obtained by importing the DICOM files of radiology exams (cone-beam computer tomography scan), performed in two different times (before and 6 months after the surgery). The superimposition of the 3D volumetric images allowed us to conclude that a bone augmentation of 3ml was achieved by using this surgical procedure.
