Resumo

The present disclosure relates to a method for obtaining a phenolic extract from holm oak, to the holm oak phenolic extract obtainable by the disclosed method, and to a foodstuff, food additive, nutraceutical or functional ingredient with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The use of the extract, and/or holm oak leaves as a food preservative or food packaging, and the use of holm oak leaves as nutraceutical or functional ingredient with prebiotic and antioxidant properties are also disclosed.
