Proteínas terapêuticas: Presente e perspectivas futuras

The number of products for human therapeutics and diagnostics based on proteins already on the market is large. For the next few years, many new ones are expected to be launched. This growth is due, among other developments, to advances on recombinant DNA technology, and on monoclonal antibodies production. All professionals in the pharmaceutical sector - from industry, trade, to health services practice-, need to be familiar with those products, as they have specificities concerning their production, use, and business management. This text is an overview of these issues, for different groups of protein-based biopharmaceuticals.
