title = "Retrato de Camilo na biografia romanceada de Aquilino Ribeiro (Jos{\'e} C{\^a}ndido de Oliveira Martins)",
abstract = "After a brief reference to other aspects of Aquilino's relationship with Camilo Castelo Branco, the article studies the biography in three volumes that the first dedicated to the author of Novels of Minho. Discussing the purpose stated by Aquilino to recreate a less idealized and more real Camilo, the author shows how the biographer values the episodes of private life to the detriment of the public sphere, in an accumulation of negative features that will compose a dysphoric portrait. The emotional and interjective language and the alternation between narrative sequences and judgmental comments constitute another particularity of this psychoanalytic reinterpretation of Camilo, marked by the oscillation between confessed admiration and demythologizing disfigurement.",
