Resumo

The article discusses the presence of the Humanities in the contemporary era and the implications of today’s new materialities for their study. The text begins by approaching the meaning of Humanities starting from the importance of the use of the word in the context of communication in society; it then moves on to a reflection on the importance of the university as a bridge between humanities and values. The Author concludes by stating that the humanities are the great challenge to the laws of the market.
